Students concentrate their efforts on the language arts skills found in their state standards; includes sentence construction, writing and reading strategies, and literary forms.

Reading Comprehension 1
Reading Comprehension 1 assesses each learner’s developmental skill level in main idea, fact/opinion, details, vocabulary, inference, and sequence.

Reading Comprehension 2
In addition to continual assessment of students’ skill levels in main idea, fact/opinion, details, vocabulary, inference, and sequence, Reading Comprehension 2 also provides the strategies needed to read and understand math, science, and social studies textbooks.

Writing Process Series: Persuasive Writing
Students express their opinions and try to persuade the reader to agree with their view on an issue.

Writing Process Series: Expository Writing
Students learn to explain, describe, give information, and inform by using and embedded word processor and a “guide on the side.”

Writing Process Series: Narrative Writing
The Narrative Writing program helps the writer tell a story that makes a specific point. Students proceed along individually prescribed paths using the program to create a series of stories.

Students learn to write creatively and for real-life purposes as they work on a variety of writing types such as scripts, poetry, email, and memos.

Both expressive and transactional writing are explored through stories, poetry, brochures, resumes, and persuasive paragraphs.
